Built in 1864, the family boarding house "The Rivage" opened its doors for the Wine Owners Celebration in 1865. The following years were placed under the sign of notoriety, called "The Princes' Hotel", it welcomed among others the famous German composer Richard Wagner (1813-1883). Since April 1904, this establishment became the "Bon Rivage", property of the Congregation des soeurs de St-Joseph d'Annecy in France who ran it first as a boarding house and then as an old age pension.
